About the Role

We are currently working with a local government organisation based in Maroochydore QLD. They are currently seeking an Accounting Officer - Accounts Payable to come in and join their team on a temp contract opportunity until 30th June 2026.

Candidates for this role must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Proven end to end Accounts Payable processing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel system

Key responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Accounts Payable Processing: Process high-volume financial data and electronic transfers ensuring all transactions meet policy and authorization standards.

  • Financial Integrity & Risk Management: Conduct complex reconciliations and integrity checks to ensure audit compliance and prevent fraudulent activity.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Manage professional relationships with suppliers and staff to resolve credit terms and inquiries accurately and promptly.

  • Systems Optimisation & Support: Produce financial reports and assist in the development and testing of system upgrades and enhancements.

  • Knowledge Sharing & Documentation: Train team members and maintain procedural manuals to ensure high-quality, multi-skilled service delivery.

  • Compliance, Safety & Governance: Adhere to cyber security, records management, and WHS protocols to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.


About You

You will be an experienced Accounts Officer with proven experience and reliability in previous positions

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Proven end to end Accounts Payable processing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
